How to Ease The Burdens Of A Stressful Daily Schedule

Easing The Burdens Of A Stressful Daily Schedule.

You like getting things done. People come to you when they want something done right and they should! Sometimes, though, life can get really stressful for those of us who live for the grind. When that happens, we risk burning out altogether.
So how can we make a stressful daily schedule a little more manageable? It is possible and if you’ve ever burnt out you know it is entirely necessary. Read on for a few ways to ease the burdens of a stressful daily schedule.

Diet and Exercise

When your schedule gets hectic, it’s easy to let diet and exercise go. The facts, however, support that it becomes more important than ever to maintain a proper diet and get enough exercise. These things keep you energized! Coffee can only do so much.
Make sure you are eating a good variety of food. We tend to focus on carbs and that is bad for our health. Find tasty ways to add fruits, vegetables, nuts, and protein. The key is finding ways to add variety to your diet that you actually enjoy. Eating should not feel like a chore, especially when life is stressful!
For exercise, you basically need to get your heart rate up for about twenty minutes almost every day. You can run, fast walk, hike, or do a variety of work outs in the gym. Get a personal trainer or find a routine online if you feel lost at the gym.

Get Enough Sleep

According to the American Psychological Association, “Daytime stress affects nighttime sleep. Making matters worse, losing shuteye can affect both cognition and mood.”
Some people claim they only need 3-5 hours of sleep a night. They are likely lying, and statistically you are not one of them. Odds are you need to make enough time to sleep every night. If you don’t, you will become less energized, more irritable, and possibly depressed.
If you struggle with sleep, routine is key. You need to start winding down at the same time every night and then get into bed every night.
When it’s time to wind down, maybe an hour before bed, turn off all phone and TV light. These devices emit blue light which keeps us awake. They also have the power to take us down social media or Netflix binges. Find something relaxing like tea and book, and then get into bed when it’s time. You may not sleep well at first but stick with it!

Routine, Routine, Routine

Proper sleep requires a proper routine, but so does proper waking life. If you don’t have a routine for when you wake up, you’ll find waking up hard and you might start being late to work. If you don’t work activities into your daily routine, you are unlikely to do them.
You need to schedule your time, especially if it doesn’t seem like you have much of it. Once you do, you’ll feel less stress because you will know you can complete what you need to do during the day.

Make Time for Fun!

So far, I’ve covered the tough stuff we have to practice in order to make sure to stay healthy and make time to do all we need to. Now I will stress the importance of scheduling regular time for fun and relaxation. If you never do, you might burn out shortly after getting a good routine going.
So make sure to watch a movie and eat ice cream on the weekend. Have a drink with friends, play video games, and whatever else. No wrong answers! Work hard and play hard! Your daily schedule will seem like less and less of a monster.
